Keepsake Jewellery FAQs
What is breastmilk jewellery?
Breastmilk jewellery is a personalised keepsake made using your preserved breastmilk. Our breastmilk jewellery is handcrafted in sterling silver and designed in a subtle gothic or alternative style, creating a meaningful way to honour your breastfeeding journey.
How is breastmilk preserved in jewellery?
Your breastmilk is carefully dried, preserved and transformed into a powder before being added to resin and hand-set into your chosen design. This process ensures your breastmilk jewellery is durable, safe to wear, and made to last.
What is ashes jewellery?
Ashes jewellery is a form of memorial jewellery made using a small amount of cremation ashes. Our ashes jewellery is designed for those who want an alternative or gothic-style remembrance piece that can be worn close to the heart.
Will my keepsake jewellery look exactly like the photos?
Each piece is completely unique. Natural variations in breastmilk and ashes mean your keepsake jewellery may differ slightly from the photos — this individuality is part of what makes your piece special. Photos shown on the listings are using breastmilk.
What metals are used in your keepsake jewellery?
All breastmilk and ashes jewellery are crafted in sterling silver and handmade in the UK using traditional jewellery-making techniques.
How long does it take to make personalised keepsake jewellery?
All breastmilk jewellery and ashes jewellery are made to order. Please allow 8-10 weeks from receiving your inclusion for your piece to be completed.
How do I send my breastmilk or ashes for my jewellery?
Breastmilk: Transfer 5–10ml of breastmilk into the vial — fresh, frozen, or aged.
Ashes: Place around a quarter of a teaspoon of ashes into the container.
Hair / Fur: Add to the pot around the size of a 1p coin. Hair will be cut to fit the gem. Tying the hair with a piece of string is super helpful!
Umbilical Cord: Must be fully dried, no softness, around the size of an orange seed is plenty. Do not send clip or full stump.
Seal the container in the bag and include it with your name & order number in a padded envelope.
Post using the return label.
Once received, your keepsake will be carefully preserved and transformed by hand into a wearable piece of jewellery — a unique reminder of your journey.
Is gothic keepsake jewellery safe to wear every day?
While your jewellery is made to last, we recommend removing it before bathing, swimming, or sleeping to keep your keepsake jewellery in the best condition over time.
