Caring For Your Stainless Steel Jewellery
As you’ve probably gathered by now, we’re serious Stainless Steel Jewellery fan girls here, we can’t get enough of the stuff. Reason being – it’s strong as hell and doesn’t discolour your fingers. It’s nickel free and so suitable for the vast majority of us. Every single item we sell is made from this godly substance. I’ve countless rings that are dinted and scratched to hell, some people love this rough look but personally I prefer the bands of my rings to stay the same shape.
Cleaning
- Prepare a small bowl of warm water and add a few drops of mild dishwashing soap to create a gentle cleaning solution suitable for Stainless Steel Jewellery.
- Dip a soft, lint-free cloth into the soapy water, ensuring it's damp but not soaked. Use this cloth to gently wipe your Stainless Steel Jewellery, including pieces with black fill like Cosmic Coffin, being cautious around the fill area to avoid abrasive rubbing.
- Take extra care with Jewellery featuring black fill, as the patina or fill can tarnish over time. Avoid prolonged exposure to water and harsh chemicals, and gently pat dry the fill area after cleaning to prevent water spots.
- Take care not to immerse Jewellery with gemstones in water, as prolonged exposure can weaken the glue holding the stones in place. Instead, use a damp cloth to clean around the gemstones without submerging them.
- Once the Jewellery is clean, use a separate cloth dampened with clean water to wipe away any remaining soap residue.
- Dry the Stainless Steel Jewellery thoroughly with a clean towel to prevent water spots and leave them to air dry completely.
- Optionally, after the Jewellery is completely dry, you can further enhance its shine by using a Stainless Steel Jewellery polish or a specialized polishing cloth.
By following these steps and precautions, you'll help maintain the beauty and integrity of your Stainless Steel Jewellery, especially those adorned with black fill like Cosmic Coffin, ensuring they retain their luster for years to come.
Maintaining and Storing
Although stainless steel jewellery doesn’t tarnish or corrode and doesn’t require special care, it can sometimes scratch depending on the plating.
That’s why you should wear and store your pieces in a way that minimizes any contact with other items that can damage your stainless steel jewellery.
If your jewellery does get scratched, you can always have it professionally polished by a jeweller.
Store your stainless steel pieces separately from jewellery made of other metals. It is best if you keep your stainless steel items in individual bags or pouches.
